I am... surprised that someone around here knows about Gatekeepers 21. I thought it was obscure enough that only I knew about it, lol.

Umineko no naku koro ni / When the seagulls cry. Murder mystery on an island.

There is an , but it is incomplete (the second half and some details are missing). To see the whole story you would have to watch / play the visual novel.

Gatekeepers 21. The sequel to Gatekeepers set a few decades later in the 90s with darker themes.

Gatekeepers. A classic about high schoolers with superpowers fighting alien invaders.

Hmm... I'm seeing a bit of interest coming in for this.

I could have asked a slightly more nuanced question, although it still gets the job done.

All of the above is coming in now, although more anime is still ahead, lol.

If this were Japan, I would be using "w" instead of "lol". Probably. That's the equivalent.

Someone seems to believe that people wait to change their avatars until right when they get a new follower rather than it being a synchronisation thing, lol.

I see that someone out there wants more anime content, lol. Well, you can never have too much anime content, lol.

Since people seem quiet at times here, unless someone makes it a poll, let's make it a poll:

What do you want me to post more of?

@Etheria@mastodon.social In fairness, I don't know if the anime adaptation is completely canon, but yeah, it is a shame.

I guess it's possible to buy the light novel and continue it that way.

I'm seeing... Plenty of follower counts going down on X. That is usually indicative of people leaving.

@trinsec Now, this might be more of an opinionated quip, but I'm not really a fan of Misskey's analytics type features, lol.

So, someone did something at x and displaying that for all to see on their profile. I like the extra bit of privacy that withholding that bit of data has.

@trinsec I've got to look further into that one. It looks very recent.

When I looked into Calckey briefly a few months ago, I discovered the leader seemed to block instances over petty beefs with admins.

Due to this, I wasn't really motivated to look into it, as it seemed like the sort of high school drama which we could all do with less of.

The tricky thing with highly opinionated projects I think, whether Pleroma on usability or Mastodon on functionality, is that it's not like you can just open a pull request and solve that problem in one go.

Otherwise, if it's just lacking this or that, that is easy to solve.

That's another problem I think.

The software which are most widely used for larger instances are also ironically less suited for doing so due to performance issues.

Meanwhile, more performant stacks are instead used for small or even single user instances, which largely moots the point of using that stack in the first place.
