"We have enormous freedom. That’s not a gift that was given to us, it’s a legacy that was left to us by centuries of struggle. By centuries of people that most of whose names are completely forgotten, the ones who created the freedom and the rights we now have, and that will be taken away unless you constantly defend them."

- Noam Chomsky

Latest on the beautiful Fritz!Box router: whenever a large airplane takes off from GVA it goes into the mode wherby it re-calculates the 5GHz channel on the basis that part of it is suddenly occupied by the airplane’s radar…

Net result: the whole network (i.e. wired too) hangs.

IMO the one fallacy that pretty much everyone is constantly a victim of is: post hoc ergo propter hoc.

If people could overcome just this one fallacy we could solve sooooo much of the worlds problems and start agreeing on shit.

Funny how all the religions pretty much say the same thing yet some people interpret this to mean "hate anyone who doesnt believe in exactly the same shit as you".

Toxic masculinity. Does that mean all masculinity is bad? No! Not at all.

This comic explains it fairly well. The term Toxic Masculinity is from Social Sciences, to help explain certain problems in the current image of Masculinity, which hurts both men and women.

“All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake up in the day to find it was vanity, but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”

Blockchain: decentralisation centralised on my coin.

Hint: the core of decentralisation isn’t about having a billion copies of the same database. It’s about a billion people each having their own, unique database.

PS. In a truly decentralised system, no one makes a billion dollars. *watches all the right libertarians make for the door*

PPS. A venture capitalist would never invest in a truly decentralised system. Why? See PS, above.

@lynnesbian As a twenty year old single male I think it's very hard to find a girl who's actually interested in free software. I've had girls jokingly ask to "Netflix and chill" but when I tell her that I don't use Netflix since Netflix requires proprietary software to stream content, they stop talking to me. And worse if they do stay they think I'm weird since I blocked google IP's in my host file and we can't even watch youtube. (1/3)

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth. ~Oscar Wilde

Pretty true on the net.

I love all cultures, white culture, dutch culture, french culture, vietnamese culture, indian culture, any culture you can imagine. I find them all so rich with lessons to learn from, delicious food to try, unique ways of looking at the world and morality.

It is why there is nothing that will send me running from a person faster than to hear them be hateful towards any culture. Those people have issues and while I hope one day they grow past them I dont need that shit in my life.
