I tried ΔV: Rings of Saturn and ... I don't get it. There's brief tutorial on the controls, but when I'm told to return to the station ... what station? Where? Also, what am I trying to do? Do I just wander around this isotropic space collecting rocks? There seems to be a distinct lack of feedback on what I'm supposed to be doing and whether I'm succeeding.

The Steam reviews are Very Positive, so I must be missing something.

@peterdrake It's a cross between the old classic Asteroids arcade game and a modern miner/upgrader.

You have to venture out into the rings, find rocks with minerals, break them apart, and then gather the minerals in your hold (while dealing with the physics of big heavy rocks bouncing around inside you). Then you return to the station to sell and repair and upgrade and repeat.

It's been a while since I played it, but if I recall, right is deeper into the rings and left is shallower. Go far enough left, and it'll prompt you to autodock to the station.

@LouisIngenthron I don't get the appeal of mining. Maybe it's just not my genre.

@peterdrake After just stumbling about the same problem*, you can fly to left, to the edge of the rings, at some time the autopilot will take over and fly you back to Enceladus station.

Or you use the astronomer in the [J] menu, he'll plot a course to known stations, even from within the rings.

* "My cargo bay is full, I wanna go home. Do I really have to fly all the way through those asteroids?? Uff. No way?? Help."
