@RJB_Mallacore Reminiscent of the Starcraft battlecruiser.
I really enjoyed the 'Monk and Robot' duology by Becky Chambers ('A Psalm for the Wild Built' and 'A Prayer for the Crown-Shy') and am looking for more solarpunk book or book series recommendations.

@ai6yr not entirely relevant in this case, since he was hiking, but the realest SAR advice I read was, “Stay with the car. We always find the car. We don’t always find the person.”
@hellomiakoda A movie with Pitt and Jolie. They're a married couple who (unbeknownst to each other) are spies working for rival organizations. They're starting to suspect when they're having dinner and one of them knocks a glass of wine off the table; the other one catches it before it hits the floor. They exchange this look of "If you can do THAT, you must be a super spy," then dive behind the couches and start shooting at each other.
This is our standard household reference when anyone displays amazing reflexes.
@hellomiakoda Did you see Mr. & Mrs. Smith?
This article by Elie Mystal is a great read and gives me, I dare say, hope. https://www.thenation.com/article/politics/america-is-ready-for-first-black-woman-president/
Did you know you can easily search through your own Mastodon posts?
Just include from:me in the search field.
Instead of this, you can include in:library to show posts you have interacted with or written yourself.
If you want to search through posts of a specific user, include from:username (e.g. from:@metin)

@kottke From the report: "A substantial portion of the economy-wide emission reductions we project results from regulations, which are drawing the ire of a conservative majority on the Supreme Court highly skeptical of the administrative state. These same regulations are also susceptible to rollbacks by the next presidential administration should they be more hostile to climate action."
Some good climate news: the pace of decarbonization in the US is increasing (due in part to Biden policies); we’re on track to “reduce GHG emissions by 38-56% below 2005 levels in 2035”, which is 2-4X the pace from 2005 to 2023. https://rhg.com/research/taking-stock-2024/
@adrianh @futurebird Canonically, t's an entirely different tree of life.
Cocaine Bear is getting a sequel
There are almost no Black people on Mastodon. There are white trans people, but there are almost no Black trans people. There are scientists, but almost no Black scientists.
When I'm done, Mastodon will be ~20% Black, and ~20% of the trans people on Mastodon will be Black.
This is going to "destroy" the culture, or it's going to "change," the culture, depending on how racist you are.
Mastodon is better social media. More people should have access to it. Black people.
