Ten million dollars to whomsoever made this layout choice. Not from me, of course. I'm broke as fuck.

02.07. Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West

What an utter disaster! @peterdrake had an exceptionally excellent game while I had an exceptionally abysmal game (143 vs 37). Yes, you’re reading that correctly, he beat me by more than 100 points!

I read Tom Benner's very short book "Naming Things: The Hardest Problems in Software Engineering". Experienced software developers will, I think, already be familiar with most of this material, but it could be valuable for new programmers.

02.06. Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West

A decisive victory over @peterdrake (84 vs 72), but I fear that investments he made during this game may more than compensate him in future.

#2889 Greenhouse Effect

Once he had the answer, Arrhenius complained to his friends that he'd "wasted over a full year" doing tedious calculations by hand about "so trifling a matter" as hypothetical CO2 concentrations in far-off eras (quoted in Crawford, 1997).

I read the rules to the critically acclaimed The Quiet Year and ... it seems extremely vague.

You're not supposed to use words on the map, but no particular alternative is provided. I know the game is supposed to be an exercise in working together when communication is limited, but what if player's aren't on the same page about what something on the map literally means?

Early in the book it says "we don't embody specific characters", but later you can discard a Contempt token "to act selfishly". What does that mean if you don't have a self?

There may be an amazing game / experience hiding in here, but I don't feel that the rulebook communicates it.

Up and at 'em, people! These whiteys aren't going to tighten themselves!

@chiasm I'll probably share materials here as it progresses.
