I don't speak much Spanish, but today I still get to help at Las Charlas track as a session chair, and I also staffed at the Python en Español booth because they didn't have enough volunteers.

we're super short on volunteers tomorrow (May 15) at #PyConUS. We're seeing 50% empty shifts for green room volunteers, session runners and chairs.
If you have a talk session to wish to see tomorrow, why not double up and help out by being a session chair for that time?

@pamelafox As a reveal.js user for like 8-9 years now, I feel very vindicated by how extremely easy it is to get AI agents to do nice little QoL improvements on reveal.js
If you find yourself at LAX trying to figure out why the pickup place for Uber/Lyft is like a million miles away, it is because there is a shuttle that you need to take to get a ride share.

@sethmlarson This is great to see. I did very little for this effort, I think just reviewing some setuptools PRs, but it always struck me as both a good idea and also almost insurmountably difficult, like digging through a mountain with a pickaxe, but I guess people have been quietly digging along for 10 years and they are starting to see some light on the other side!

Standard smartphones cannot broadcast a 60 kHz radio wave. But if you play a 20 kHz square wave at max volume, the physical distortion in the analog amplifier generates a 60 kHz harmonic. The speaker's voice coil acts as a localized magnetic transmitter. 2/4
