@w7voa I'll bet
A) Obama's white house portrait has already come right back down again, and
B) Biden''s will not go up in the next 4 years...
@w7voa "It was unfortunate for my revenge plans."
@w7voa Because we're all about controlling pointless spending ...
... um hang on
@w7voa Wait, wasn't I supposed to riot at the Capitol earlier this month? I distinctly understood that the done thing would be for Democrats to invade the Capitol and assault some police officers with whatever they can grab off the walls whilst prowling for Congresspeople to lynch. Did I misunderstand?

A few other notables that spring to mind are Niven's The Integral Trees/The Smoke Ring, Vinge's A Fire Upon the Deep, and @davidbrin 's Sundiver.
@w7voa Wimp
@BashStKid We couldn't even finish watching that one. Just annoying.
@BashStKid (More pedantically, Primer is hard SF if anything is.)
@BashStKid I really liked Primer. But you can't really watch it with someone who's not nerdy enough to unravel it, and I wouldn't give it a general recommendation for similar reasons.
Just watched the 2013 film "Coherence". Easily one of the best "soft" #SciFi screen works I've ever seen; like a long-form, really superior episode of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits or Black Mirror.
Also, very impressive use of no budget whatsoever. Somehow it ends up being a strength of the film.
DON'T read any reviews, and don't worry if your early reaction is to not like many of the characters. Liking them isn't the point.
@w7voa A shame. That gum he liked was coming back in style.
@bruces hopefully they're labeled "Caution: Trip Hazard"
@w7voa They'll be easy to tell apart: the George W. Bush will be painted with a permanent commemorative "Mission Accomplished" banner.

A Famous Biologist simplified it recently by saying "Shoes are chiral. Socks aren't."
@Fife4Europe I too fear the radicalization of people who grunt when they get out of a chair.
Thinking of Aaron Swartz today & I’m stuck on this photo - he & OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (both circled) each scraped 1000s of docs but one did it to make the knowledge free for all while the other did it to make $$$$ through probabilistic plagiarism. The US DOJ only came after one of them & the other is feted by tech bros and executives.
Thank you Aaron for so much, for RSS, for Markdown, for Creative Commons and more. I’m sorry our society failed you.
