Every time I think of Game of Thrones sooner or later I always come back to the fact that "Daenerys Targaryen" is the most fanfic name ever devised.

At least one hosting provider (digital ocean) offers a turnkey mastodon instance that can be fired up on its own servers. What'd be nice would be a KVM disk image that can be started on on *any* hosting provider: start it up, set a few parameters in a single config file, and you're off and running.

I'm competent to make such a thing, but if someone's beat me to it let me know, because I'm also lazy.

(I know there are docker images. Not the same thing.)

I just got proactively jabbed with the shingles vaccine series and I thought I was going to die. I have never been twatted by a vaccine like that.

Cringed good and hard when Nancy Pelosi introduced the president of "The Ukraine" FFS ,half her job is ceremonial, she could at least try to not get the symbolic stuff wrong.

I think it's terribly wrong that we're seizing Russian oligarchs' yachts without recompense. If we had any compassion at all we'd compensate them with one of the things they've shown they'll do anything for: a washing machne, or a jar of Nutella.

Why does Amazon Prime video position the pause and skip controls right smack in the middle of the viewport and dim down the entire image so you can see them? How can you be in the business of streaming video and think it's your job to deliberately obscure it while people are trying to use it?

If this place becomes the new twitter, the world will probably be a slightly better place for it and it's something I hope to see..

But somewhat paradoxically, Mastodon itself will become a worse place than it was, in part because of a few inevitable twitterlike characteristics it is taking on that simply go with the territory.
