Someone pointed out that the best way to search Mastodon is to use hashtags. Is there a list of #HashTags that people have used, so that I can pick the right ones and not uninteresting create duplicates? Is there a suggested syntax? I see some hashtags have an underscore between words like #hash_tags; is that frowned upon?
Is there a way to "follow a hashtag" so that toots with that hashtag show up in my feed?

@quest I see it as a specialized timeline. You can follow people, hashtags or even keywords and they will show up when you open that list. Like another Home feed but focused on a specific topic.

@Waldemar @quest That is correct. Consider a list an extension of your home timeline. If you follow a few people who might be very spammy and drown out everyone else you follow, you can decide to make a 'spam list' for them. Or you can decide to have lists by category like 'gaming' 'gardening' and put in the followers in the most approrpiate list. That way you can keep your home timeline fairly tidy.
