I enjoy things around information theory (and data compression), complexity theory (and cryptography), read hard scifi, currently work on weird ML (we'll see how it goes), am somewhat literal minded and have approximate knowledge of random things. I like when statements have truth values, and when things can be described simply (which is not exactly the same as shortly) and yet have interesting properties.
I live in the largest city of Switzerland (and yet have cow and sheep pastures and a swimmable lake within a few hundred meters of my place :)). I speak Polish, English, German, and can understand simple Swiss German and French.
If in doubt, please err on the side of being direct with me. I very much appreciate when people tell me that I'm being inaccurate. I think that satisfying people's curiosity is the most important thing I could be doing (and usually enjoy doing it). I am normally terse in my writing and would appreciate requests to verbosify.
I appreciate it if my grammar or style is corrected (in any of the languages I use here).

@freemo Do you know how that changes across age, cities/small towns, and immigration status? (I can't easily find anything that would give me those answers for Switzerland, but the general tendency seems to also be true: ~4/5ths are men.)
I assume this works better than if you tried to use resin glue? (I'm asking because that would be the first I'd try.)

I guess this is the legal difference between "anyone born here (with caveats) is a citizen" vs "the State Department/... is obliged to grant citizenship to anyone born here (with caveats)".
In parallel, I wonder how many countries have at least generic civil-law-style rules for mitigating administrative mistakes.

Would a bright point light not be reasonable? If there is no uniform size across different vehicles, it's hard to use their nonpointness to estimate distances.

Note that https://sensors-eawag.ch/sars/overview.html has recently had very large (positive) derivatives (so much that I'm somewhat surprised not to see anything that looks to my eye as timing variation across different regions).

@sophieschmieg amusingly enough, the exact opposite is true in Polish (I did hear ćwirk or ćwit many times, but don't recall any variation of trąb) if you consider nouns.
@mjg59 Where do you typically look for service manuals of such appliances?
PC that is located in an inconvenient place that you want to avoid having to lug a CRT to, and that for some reason is hard to attach a serial console to (maybe because any available device that could be used as a terminal also includes a CRT that's unwieldy to move).
(Somewhat relatedly, I still remember that a particular single-floppy distro that I was using on a PC acting as a router at my school would beep out melody of Yesterday on i/o errors when reading the floppy.)
