First and only take. OMB guitar and FNK840 mic into TC Helicon HarmonyG XT, into a Behringer Q1202USB into an old laptop running ~7 year-old Audacity. No effects added. Audacity post "normalized" and "noise removal." Maybe 20 seconds after the end, I added an "alternate ending" with a bass + 3rd harmony.

Joy to the World was written by Hoyt Axton, made famous by Three Dog Night.
People chatting and room noise are just a fact of playing where alcohol/food is served. That happens to be the recording with the least amount of room noise, so about the only open mic vid I've ever shared. The rest are way noisier.
Flies in the Butter was written and performed by the Judds.
I used a voice effect (basically it synthesizes your own voice to sing along in unison) for the verses, and a harmony voice a third up for the chorus. I tried to keep it subtle... maybe I kept the harmony voice a little too subtle.
Glad you like Joy to the World.
I'll see about doing a cleaner version.
Rhythm is important if you're playing with other people, but I view it the same as melody... open to improvisation when solo. Nice banjo playing. Is the title supposed to be "Concerning Hobbits?"
BTW, what's the link of the one you uploaded today?
I'm pretty sure you already saw the last song I did at the last open mic I went to. (I might have said something about the videographer needing training)

Here's a more recent one using some of that sound board electronica I was talking about. I notice as I trail off in volume, I also fall a little flat on a few notes, something I'm working on...

I started guitar... I don't know... maybe '73. Over the years, there were long periods of time when I didn't play. Broken fingers one time, I couldn't even play if I wanted to for well over 18 months.
Last year I sang and played a few times at an open mic. It was a good experience. One thing I learned was that many artists have sound compressors and various other electronica on a board that goes between the mic/instrument and the amp to improve the sound.
Another big lesson: Record yourself and listen back. You'll hear mistakes you'll never notice while just singing in the shower/closet. You'll never know what you need to work on if you don't hear it.
Also, get a decent microphone. The difference between a $7 "karaoke" mic and even a ~$25 vocal mic is huge (I used the karaoke mic for over a year. Once I upgraded, I was sorry I ever bought the cheap one.)
Maybe more than you're ready for yet? Anyway, stop thinking about sharing and do it!

> I fully believe the number of people in the US who'll die from being forced into lockdown will outnumber the actual deaths from the virus.
Absolutely!
CDC count for flu/pneumonia deaths this flu season: 83,780.
Number of deaths from COVID-19: 24,555
Number from vitamin D (sunlight) deficiency: uncounted
Number from depression: uncounted
Number from lockdown-induced poverty: uncounted
Number from deferred doctor visits: uncounted.
etc.

If they're obviously suicide, they'd be listed on the death certificate a such.
What DOES happen is people die from leukemia, for instance, and the death certificate lists cause of death as COVID-19 (or probable COVID, depending on jurisdiction). Happens all the time when there's a lethal co-morbidity.

Professor Knut Wittkowski, for twenty years head of The Rockefeller University's Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design, says that social distancing and lockdown is the absolutely worst way to deal with an airborne respiratory virus.
Professor John Oxford of Queen Mary University London, one of the world’s leading virologists and influenza specialists, comes to the following conclusion regarding Covid19: „Personally, I would say the best advice is to spend less time watching TV news which is sensational and not very good. Personally, I view this Covid outbreak as akin to a bad winter influenza epidemic... I do not feel this current Covid will exceed this number. We are suffering from a media epidemic!“

FDR may not have been around to actually "pull the trigger," but after building the gun and ammo, that was certainly his intent:
"The matter should continue to be regarded as of the utmost secrecy; but when a “bomb” is finally available, it might perhaps, after mature consideration, be used against the Japanese, who should be warned that this bombardment will be repeated until they surrender."

I don't watch Fox, so have no idea what kind of "bad faith" actions you're referring to.
