"GitHub is gradually rolling out support for IPv6. As GitHub services continue to add IPv6 support, we will start recognizing IPv6 addresses of GitHub users. To prevent possible access interruptions, please ensure you have added any necessary IPv6 addresses to your IP allow list."
Reading the old Player's Guide to Dragonlance as prep for when my wife runs the new campaign, and laughed when I came across this text on p105 describing the gods of magic and why Nuitari sounded so frightening: "The dark-haired child of Evil suffered from a throat impairment, which made him speak in hoarse whispers."
8. Favorite RPG for its art
There are lots of Rpgs with great art. But I love Eclipse Phase for its incredible setting and evocative art. And I love that their philosophy is to release everything via a Creative Commons license for non-commercial use.

Latest blog post up on #ttrpg mechanics: Success at a Cost, looking at the way failure is handled in different systems including #fate, #PbtA, #FitD, and #gumshoe. There is a final note on the many different ways that #characterdeath is handled. https://sgryphon.gamertheory.net/2022/12/30/rpg-mechanics-success-at-a-cost

Looking forward to going to #dnd in a Castle in November next year, but if you want to join be quick as it is almost sold out. https://shop.dndinacastle.com/collections/round-3-nov-4-8-2023/

Hello, Mastodon! First post, so… I’m Keith! I created Eberron for D&D, the card game Gloom, and now I’m making games with my company Twogether Studios, including Illimat, The Adventure Zone: Bureau of Balance, and Phoenix: Dawn Command. I love all forms of collaborative storytelling, and I have a pug named Ping who is always looking for trouble!
You should set up and run #NAT64 + #DNS64 in you #dualstack environment. Benefits are that it allows #IPv6 only devices a way to connect to IPv4 only servers, and provides valuable experience with IPv6, with no downsides. It does mean that dual stack devices will use NAT64 instead of NAT44, but you are still using NAT either way (and IPv4 devices always have to use NAT). See my article for more details and network diagrams https://sgryphon.gamertheory.net/2022/12/14/running-nat64-in-a-dual-stack-network/
@lifeofguenter @nixCraft My ISP has offered IPv6 for my home connection for about 5 years now. Implemented dual stack for everything at work about 12 years ago. Sure wish the rest of the world would just migrate already. Anyone who has not yet migrated is holding the entire world back.
Sorry to brag, but my 11 year old daughter is becoming quite the #EddieMunson... er, I mean DM. I'm so proud. (And she loves my new #OSE gear!) #dnd #OldSchoolEssentials #oldSchoolDnD #ttrpg #strangerthings #osr
Electric vehicles are now tax exempt (FBT) in Australia, meaning you can salary package them pre-tax for significant savings. It is only for 3 years at the moment, but that could save maybe 25% of the cost of the vehicle. The legislation was passed just in time for my new Tesla to arrive. https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Bills_LEGislation/Bills_Search_Results/Result?bId=r6876
To everyone in the #TTRPG space freaking out over Hasbro's statement that #dnd is under-monetized:
They're talking about the D&D BRAND, not the GAME.
Yes, they're going to expand offerings for the #RPG and pressure players to sub to D&D Beyond more, but what they're mainly talking about is movies, TV shows, video games, t-shirts, action figures...you know, REAL money.
(2) it made me realize that these new technologies for generating images and text and code are tools for artists with genuine ideas, not substitutes for them. It is comparable to when the camera was introduced and “real artists” who had learned to paint were shocked and threatened. Nevertheless, paintings were still valuable, and people who had artistic ability to do nice things with photography were valuable too, and now we live in a world saturated with photographs and we are no poorer.
Grouchy old IT guy who complains if you don't support #ipv6, #openstandards, and #opensource. #amateurradio operator N3PB. I've used a #pdp8, managed a VM/CMS system and assorted Unix(-like) systems for 30+ years.
Folks in the #ipv6 world may recognize the Legacy IP Only warning sticker in the photo. I made those circa 2013 and many other people have printed their own version since then.
