@ai6yr Hahaha. Yes, especially now that the sun is active, it's good to keep an eye on real-time solar activity while you're on the air. I have my phone set up to give me immediate bulletins about flares and jumps in Kp index. I often have the blackout map up on the screen. services.swpc.noaa.gov/images/

Not only do you know what's going on but you can observe the effects on propagation and ionospheric noise yourself. If a big flare happens around midday where you are, and you happen to be on an upper band (15m is best), you can hear the normal noise quiet down and be replaced by another kind of noise. You're then listening to the sun itself, which sounds different. You're listening to radio signals from 93 million miles away. Whoo hoo.

If conditions are going to spoil your DXing plans, might as well have fun with it.

New: Erica Marsh became one of the most consistently viral liberal accounts on Twitter. Only problem: She's probably fake. Her account was suspended after we asked Twitter workers about it. Doesn't this kind of rage baiting make you angry? Boost if you agree

"The Russian occupiers said that in 30-40 days drinking water in Kakhovka wells in Kherson region could disappear completely

After the Russian explosion of the Kakhovsk HPP and the destruction of the Kakhov Reservoir, the level of drinking water in the wells of the village of Malokakhovka fell by 5 meters, and in Kakhovka it falls by an average of 15 centimeters every day. The occupiers warn that in 30-40 days the city's water supply may be completely cut off and say they do not have the resources to solve the problem."

I just read another news article about why mastodon didn’t make it and is dying. It’s very sad to hear and probably explains why I have to keep adding more server capacity to handle all the people quitting mastodon.

@futurebird They already bought the fireworks so they HAVE to use them.

@djwfyi @vmstan No idea. Haven't watched TV since the early 90s. But whatever it was would likely be better than here and now. Lol.

The rate limiting incident in Twitter isn't really what pushed me over to use Mastodon more and more. Currently there is a hashtag on Twitter related to the French riots that's calling on the expulsion of all Muslim, African, and Arab immigrants from the entirety of Europe. The entirety and trending hashtag (at #2) is filled with images encouraging mass killings and lynchings of Arabs. There is no come back from this.

According to Washington DNR, all six major Cascade wildfires started over the weekend were started by idiots using fireworks.
