Computer tech from a parallel universe #1:
Circular screens based on polar co-ordinates.
Circular keyboards too while we're at it. The centre key could be the spacebar, or enter, or the super key, or a version of ctrl/alt (the key used for combinations, or a key that combines features of the above.

@Hyolobrika how weird is it that we write linearly, we should have at least 2 axes of text superimposed upon one another, perhaps logical and emotional content respectively

Did you mean "layers of text"?
An axis is a line that marks a dimension i.e. on a graph.
Oh, you just meant have two parallel columns?
Sounds like it would be awkward to read. Maybe instead do that thing Japanese does where you write kana over kanji. Or write them in different colours.

@Hyolobrika nah I was joking it would be an absolute pain in the arse

still seems kinda weird though, the idea that a book is essentially one long ass line of 26 or so individual symbols

I only watch the first ten minutes or so, but what he's doing in the linked video makes no sense.
Why would you chop up the sentence circles into 12 evenly spaced sections? Does each sentence only contain 12 logograms, no more, no less?
That can't be right as previously he identified a logogram as being bigger than 1/12.
Yeah, yeah, I know. It's just a movie. But still. I like my movies to make sense, damnit!

@Hyolobrika @skells i was just joking ;) i still think arrival is one of the better movies in this regard
