I was reading interviews of Katalin Karikó, who made key discoveries that led to the development of lifesaving mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. Her dedication in the midst of adversity struck me.

-She pushed on despite not having job security, NIH R01 research funding, or recognition.
-A chance stop in Mainz led to her joining BioNTech.
-And her daughter is a two-time Olympic gold medalist!

More talk of dedicated scientists, less talk of narcissistic businessmen please.

for defending the rights of refugees and migrants

"On 18 November 2022, migrant right defenders Seán Binder, Sara Mardini and Nassos Karakitsos attended their court summons at the first instance court on Lesvos Island. The human rights defenders informed the inquisitor and prosecution that they have nothing to add. Their trial will commence on 10 January 2023 and face charges classified as misdemeanour crimes, however the felony charges are still not concluded."

Impressionante ricostruzione di Angela Saini di tutti quegli psicologi che, al soldo del Pioneer Fund, hanno portato avanti (e continuano a farlo) ideologie razziste. Per radicarsi nella comunità scientifica (spalleggiati da movimenti di estrema destra) hanno profondamente corrotto i metodi di valutazione dell'intelligenza, creando degli indici confezionati agli scopi ma che non hanno niente a che fare con l'esame standardizzato che porta al quoziente intellettivo.
