@samgai Huh, I actually wrote a CLI tool that did just that and was called "This Is Your Life", for this exact reason.

Unfortunately it sucked so bad I stopped using and developing it and never published.

@sotolf@fosstodon.org A solution I saw was responding to the toot with "(boost)" CWd as "thread lacking CW, $THE_CW_YOU_WANT" and boosting this response. Clunky, but works, people can click at your post to read the thread. h/t @moonbolt for this method

Slightly related -- at least the qoto quoting implementation fails to hide quoted toots on CWd messages. @freemo do you consider this a bug?
