It doesn't hurt to serve all 3 feeds.
Over the past 15 years of using #XMPP, I've seen many messengers come and go. People complain about the hassle of switching messengers, but many express a preference for the "simplicity" of gated gardens.... Do they count the cost of switching as well?
A truly sustainable messenger can only be a decentralized protocol, not just an app.

Signal, WhatsApp, shitcoins
@Seirdy
We need education on decentralisation, with a focus on understanding the distinction between platforms and protocols.
Signal, WhatsApp, shitcoins
@Seirdy
I was always skeptical of Signal. It's bandwagon following, it's weaks stances on operation, the trademarking and licensing...
But it's corporate-y and has a logo. So normies flocked to it. All too easy.
The #Signal messenger has become very problematic lately, and most of its problems come from it being centralised.
You may want to follow and support a decentralised messenger project instead, there are many of them on the Fediverse:
➡️ @snikket_im - New initiative giving XMPP servers & clients a newbie-friendly unified look and feel
➡️ @xmpp - The XMPP standards foundation
➡️ @matrix - Matrix is best known for its Element client
➡️ @delta - Messaging through email
➡️ @briar - P2P messaging

As much as I disdain this article (it's a _Medium_ article, what did I expect?), he's right on the point of the confusing lexicography of "Free Software". It's too ambiguous and semantically incorrect.

After further reading, I understand some counterpoints.
But you have to separate a lot of the wheat from the chaff.

Gemini is in no way harder, it's just unfamililar.
What you said is basically what Windows and Mac users say about Linux.
Critics talk like gemini evangelists want to genocide http, when on Gemini project's main page, it makes is clear it's "not trying to replace either [HTTP or Gopher]". It is it's own thing, with it's own purpose.
