Wasps are fine as long you don't try to hurt them or disturb their nest.
@Pat @peterdrake You've never been interrupted by a bunch of drunken wasps who are drinking from the grapes off your grapevine huh? :P Wasps are outright assholes in fall, when they're done with their duties for the most part.
We have several species of wasp here but they're all relatively tame. The paper wasps can be kind of destructive if they decide to start munching on your wooden structures.
