@tripu Is there any number available of how many journalists in total are women? I cannot interpret this without that information - could mean that
- women are targeted specifically
- men are targeted specifically
- no specific targeting takes place
Yes, I had the same question. I want to find the data. afaik, and at least in my country (Spain), there are more female journalists than male journalists.
Still, the answer doesn’t absolve UN Women, because they’ve stated their point of view regardless of the actual ratio and without contrasting the % or murdered female journos with % of female journos overall.
@tripu I could not find anything on ratios by country, mainly some numbers on the usa. Seems there it is 30%-50% women, depending on who you believe.
