The company I work for is wrestling with not enough IPv4 addresses. IPv6 needs to get here quick.
@bonifartius @valleyforge tbh I would feel uncomfortable giving the average laptop from bestbuy a public address.
@swiley it's just a public routeable address. here at home incoming connections except for some select addresses are rejected.

@bonifartius @swiley I'm not super familiar with IPv6 but I'm guessing you would do that at the router so the fact that they're "public" addresses wouldn't matter much
@valleyforge i really don't get why v6 isn't more popular. imho it's a really good design after you have unlearned all the kludges required with v4.. but people now even argue that NAT is something good because "security".
