@sidereal It's not, though. That's not how markets work, and it's not how government works.

Adams is reflecting democratic sentiment that maybe we don't screw over renters by limiting their options when they want to seek housing.

You have it exactly backwards.

@wkfry It's all up to the Senate.

At some point Americans might stop reelecting the same senators who keep screwing this stuff up.

@muffin_heeler

I mean the point is that false information is being spread inside the White House. Fediverse doesn't really matter in the scheme of things.

@Ann1944

@meidastouch The headline is wrong as he points out, it's not a bailout, it's a currency swap.

@costasamaras.com Yeah, it does come across like you're looking for things to get worked up over.

Even in your own thread here you talk about the crowds that come to these events, and it sounds like you think it's only going to be used for one specific type of event and overlooking that the space can be used for many different types of events, multiple per week.

Saying the bathroom trailers are really nice doesn't change that maybe they shouldn't need bathroom trailers in the first place.

This renovation doesn't seem particularly valuable to me fuck, I wouldn't do it, and I think they really really should have gone about it a different way, but I think you are reaching to find something to be upset about here.

@technocrit probably start by transforming it into something that isn't a joke outside of the echo chamber...

The other people that Democrats need to bring to their side I think this stuff is just silly, at best, and horribly uninformed and ignorant at worst.

The movement needs to get serious if it wants to have any meaningful effect. It needs to realize how small it really is.

@fkamiah17 I always hate when people use their kids like this.

. We should not encourage it.

@burnoutqueen No, we democratically elect our representatives to Congress and the EC.

There is democracy. Sounds like you're just ignoring the democracy and then asking where the democracy is.

It's there, it just has nothing to do with the things that you're focusing on.

@Ann1944 as usual it comes down to factual disagreements that we face these days. People just don't agree about what is factually true because they are in their own echo chambers.

Trump doesn't know how many people showed up to these rallies. He is surrounded by people who give him false information, and we see that occasionally when a reporter asks him a question and he flat out says he doesn't know what the question is based on.

And it extends to conservatives in general who have a worldview separate from all this stuff that is happening in the country.

Of course that goes both ways, though, with so many of the people showing up at these protests not knowing what's happening in government.

So our society today is really just split among different realities.

@mothership

Follow the money. There's no point having money if that's it.

Why bother?

So no, a lot of people buy into this theory but it makes no sense and it is completely unrealistic.

@djghettoredneck

I don't think that's right. They don't have that level of coherence.

Look at them as a whole, screwing things up for their own ends, and it points to amateurs, reality TV stars who don't know what they're doing.

Nazi? Nah. They're not that organized or else they wouldn't be screwing up in the courts so much.

@Thad this IS his work.

This is literally his job. He is doing his work.

House membership wants to stay in recess to pressure the Senate to get its act together and reopen government.

Johnson is doing his fucking work by supporting that position.

I don't think you understand what his fucking work is. It's all to do what you think he should do, his fucking work is to reflect the position of the entire chamber, and that is to push the legislation that it passed through the Senate.

This is Johnson doing his fucking work. It just sounds like you don't know how the government works.

I'm still stunned by this. A mainstream voice from the right saying #Trump is killing people that he can't prove are guilty, and that's just okay? #USPolitics

@octothorpe because tooting is a stupid word that a lot of people want nothing to do with.
