@zleap A new Democratic president would face opposition in the Senate as you mentioned, bringing to mind the fierce opposition the Republicans put up against anything Obama proposed.
But Bernie is no longer a candidate for nomination, he withdrew from the race so it's Joe Biden that likely gets the nomination.
Unless something unexpected happens.
@design_RG So that puts an end to healthcare for all then given he said he would veto such a move.
@zleap It would be difficult to pass a Medicare for all in the Congress and Senate, the Republicans get huge funding for their campaigns fro the Health Racket Industry (hospitals, insurance companies).
And Joe Biden has been opposed to it in the past, so yes, not going to happen if this comes thru.
I have seen suggestions of bringing Andrew Cuomo's name, the level headed NY State governor, bring his name in to the next series of primaries and to the Democratic convention. He would be a much more inspiring and capable candidate (although he doesn't seem to be too fond of progressives).
@design_RG It seems the US people need something to fall back on so everyone can afford healthcare.
@design_RG Sometimes it takes a crisis like what we are in now to bring about change.
