A lot of good points here, not sure on the answers, hence the discussion.
I guess we need to know more about the users, but that would defeat the point of being here in a way.

At least his post was saved and showed here at the top level. I intended to write to mastodevs about this -- that any situation like it would save all the posts below to whomever's instance had the next post in topic.

As a general rule i try to only D&R when no one has commented or boosted yet. But sometimes it still causes issues as seen :)
