I wonder if / how the fediverse would work in China ?

It currently does work. The article says that yahoo needed a representative in china. However, fedi doesn't have any- anywhere. Fedi is also not a company.

@lucifargundam So fedi could fill the gap, not sure if it can be federated outside the great firewall though.

There are very few VPNs that work through their firewall. Fedi can work- it's just not easy. I don't think it could replace Yahoo in any capacity either way, however.
