I think it’s important to repeat: you don't "have something to hide" when you put blinds on your windows or close the door when you're on the can or wear clothes.

Privacy isn't about having something to hide. It's not about keeping secrets. It's about you being the person who chooses what you reveal about yourself, and when, and to who, and the other word we have for that is "dignity". Your inherent dignity, as a human being.

Your privacy is the agency you have over your dignity.

Over 8,000 shoes that belonged to the youngest victims of Auschwitz need conservation.

Emmett Till and his mother were honored with the Congressional Gold Medal.

Till, 14, was tortured and murdered by two white men in MS during the summer of 1955. A white woman, the wife of one of the murderers, falsely accused him of flirting with her.

Horrendous story of how a scholar’s work was lifted from his blog and published by another scholar as her own. For context, the blogger is highly respected and has made numerous contributions to manuscropt studies via his blog, which is his main publication platform. Among the worrying elements of this story: that blogs are not real publications, so contents can be used without attribution. It happens more often.
