I'm fine with people disagreeing with me on subjects - and if I learn something from that disagreement, it's actually a net positive. What I hate is when people assume the worst of someone else for not sharing their view on a subject that doesn't merit it, or are just nasty for the sake of nastiness. You know what? That's pretty minimal here. Thanks, Mastadonians
@BrentToderian Lately I've seen drivers (in the US) going at least 10 (16kmh)mph over the posted speed limit in all speed limit zones, from 30 mph (48kmh) zones to 75 (120 kmh)mph zones. One car passed us going at least 100 mph (160kmh).
It doesn't surprise me at all that pedestrians here are dying at a higher rate.

12. Would the United States be better off with an $850 billion military budget (instead of $858 billion) and much less homelessness? What about increasing compensation for teachers?
These are all legitimate debates. But these debates are not happening.
Research collaborative prioritizes Indigenous knowledge to better protect wild rice

"The protection of wild rice is vital to Ojibwe tribes who say they were guided by those prophecies to find their home where food grows on water."
That is understandable,

There are a few websites that use http for the landing page, then use https for login and post login. I agree, this blocking will make things harder and imply that https can't be used for malicious content.
Google Chrome is going to start blocking HTTP downloads.
This is what we get when authorities start taking over software: blocking connectivity disguised as security features.
A download being malicious has nothing to do with HTTP.
Stop pretending to be good, Google. Stop pretending to be secure, Google. Stop pretending you want a secure internet, Google.

Finding out answers to this should also help other free software projects too.
The wave of Newcomers we've been receiving in GNOME is very diverse in some ways, and it's made me very happy. Yet I've noticed that few people of color stick around for more than GSoC/Outreachy, and I wonder why that is. Is there a lack of opportunity? A general lack of time for open source work among those demographics? What could we be doing better?
I'm really interested in this, because I would love to see more people like me involved.
Good, the mess smokers leave behind is disgusting and damges the environment.
Wil they also be billed for the cost of fires on say heathland that are caused by discarded cigarettes too.
Interested in Technology, Science, Chemistry, Education, Fediverse, GNU/Linux and free software.
