Florida is not being a special case. It's practice. All this stuff that's happening in FL? They're pilot programs.
Pay attention.
Yes we have lots of these in our garden too. Just eat any food left out for other birds which is a pain really.
Rock Dove
There certainly is no shortage of these birds at my feeder. This morning there was a red-bellied woodpecker at the feeder, and he was mobbed by pigeons. It's not at all an unusual event since the pigeons found my feeder. I installed a hanging feeder off a hook attached to the fence and so far, the pigeons seem unable to negotiate that feeder. All that they can do is congregate underneath and get the seeds knocked down by smaller birds.
This is a female (I think) and she has a rather odd-looking head. It makes me wonder if something happened or if it's genetic. I'm not a pigeon expert, it could be common, and I just haven't noticed.
"The rock dove, rock pigeon, or common pigeon is a member of the bird family Columbidae (doves and pigeons). In common usage, it is often simply referred to as the "pigeon". " - wikipedia.org

Elijah McCoy was born in 1844 in Ontario to formerly-enslaved parents from Kentucky. They saved enough to send him to Scotland to study mechanical #engineering. When he returned and couldn't get work in his field, he took a job as a train oilman and invented a method of automatic lubrication that eliminated the frequent stops trains had to make to oil up axles & bearings. Railroad companies asking for his product rather than copycat devices spawned the phrase "the real McCoy." #BlackHistoryMonth

Today the House GOP will "celebrate" #Blackhistorymonth by removing Rep Ilhan Omar from House Foreign Affairs committee. She is the only Black woman on the committee--plus she's Muslim + an immigrant. This is what white supremacy looks like. In some ways I would rather they came out in direct support of alternatives and encourage people to switch, however their current stance on free software and age related issues is worrying as others have said. Age verification is fine, well intentioned but it could have unintended consequences.

They suppressed their research on climate change for 40 years, I just feel people will eventually snap,. we had riots in 2011, i don't condone that, but it is inevitable something could happen.
@zleap I don't need to encourage society to revolt. It's doing that for itself already. I hope some time in my lifetime the oil companies pay for the damage they cause and I'm convinced we'd have progressed as a technological society more quickly if they had been forced to do so the whole time.
@drdrowland There is going to be a point (just look at all these strikes) where people just say enough is enough. and snap, when that happens hopefully the corporate would will feel the wrath of everyone at the same time.
As i said before all I can do is promote what is going on here, I am in the UK.
In the meantime take care and keep well. Good will always triumph over evil.
