UN issues ‘red alert’ after all major global climate records were broken last year
UN weather agency says 2024 could be worse as report details significant plunge in Antarctic sea ice
I agree there, and some of the language in films is also normalsing swearing far earlier. We are seeing kisds copying what they see online (and this includes streaming). On the note of ratings is there a differece between a fantasy film depicting war, and a film that is telling a story of a real event, e.g Dambusters, Dunkirk and the Longest day (D day) fTheor example, sure they are violent but they also tell that story, same for The great escape. aIn another sense Escape from Sobibor is horrific in the portrayal of what happened.
Film sex and nudity to have age ratings tightened for under-15s, BBFC says
West decries Putin’s reelection while China, India vow closer ties
If India is still part of the commonwealth? If so, perhaps we need to reassess that. ALso look at our overseas aid budget and ask if we NEED to give aid to a country that can spend billions on launching rockets to the moon or its own nuclear weapons programme.
This is the old cinema in Paignton, it is currently being refurbished and the plan is to show films etc but also use for other projects to help keep it going

UK doctors who receive convictions for climate protests face threat of being struck off
Particularly alarming given how permissible forms of protests in the UK are being continually restricted.
We short on doctors as it is. Surely doctors have a good reason to protest, given the health risks associated with climate change, it should be seen as a pre emptive action to avoid these health problems down the line.
Nothing lasts forever — lovely writing:
"NASA Communicates with Ailing Voyager 1 Spacecraft"
"... nearly a half-century [currently 46 years] later... [#Voyager1 & 2] have become the longest-lived and farthest-flung probes ever dispatched by humankind...
Traveling at the speed of light, the radio signals used to command the spacecraft take 22.5 hours to travel 15 billion miles—and 22.5 hours to come back..." (NB: Only took a day for results in my first computer lab.)
