While this is a long way off, now that we have moved from the theory to a working technology, now is an excellent time to encourage people to study STEM in school and beyond so that we have the fully skilled work force to drive fusion technology forward, and also to help undertake the R&D needed to improve and take the technology forward.
My post reply was to highlight the knife situation / stats in the UK. I think we can probably conclude a few points, the US has a gun problem the UK has a knife problem, neither of our ruling elite seem to be able to get a grip on it.
One of the things that seems to come from some of the US shooting is mental health issues of those that carry out the shootings, seems to be a common thread there.
I don't fully know what the causes are, but both countries seem to be failing.

Good point, the labour party wantto replace the house of lords with an elected house. Looking at the US system, and midterms I got the impression if the democrats lost the senate then bringing in new laws or perhaps changes to existing laws etc would be more difficult. I am not too sure on the details of that though.

Whenever you see someone who is #BIPOC speak up about the lack of #diversity on Mastodon... You don't need to give your opinion, you don't need to correct them about their own experience, you don't need to highlight the wonders of the fediverse. Just don't.
Instead, please listen to what they say, and remember that reach here is mediated by boosts, so instead of telling them to invite more people over—or to become Mastodon leaders of their community...
