BBC news reported that supplies are confident there won't be shortages, headlines such as this will cause shortages due to panic buying and then stockpiling, like we had with toilet roll during the pandemic.
Hopeully there won't be any panic buying, and or buying and then selling for inflated princes on ebay, mind you, if people try that then HMRC will be on their case.

Hello Fediverse!
Today we're taking another important step in our journey to fully federate Flipboard.
This morning we federated 1,000 Flipboard Magazines curated by the publishers we have been testing federation with in addition to 20 new publishers we are federating today. These include magazines like Adventure Travel by Outside, Eater DC by Eater, Explore NYC by Thrillist, Throwbacks by SPIN, and Climate Tech by Bloomberg.
Flipboard Magazines are a simple way to curate articles, images, videos and podcasts into a thematic feed. This powerful curation tool has been at the heart of Flipboard since 2012 with millions of magazines curated since about recipes, road trips, architecture, books, tech trends and so much more.
Federated magazines become native #ActivityPub feeds and can be followed by anyone on Mastodon. For example, check out my Following the Fediverse magazine @following-the-fediverse-mike
I believe that thoughtfully curated feeds have the power to make social media a lot more effective and inspiring so I'm excited to bring millions of these magazines to the #Fediverse as we federate all public curators in the next few weeks.

Perhaps, once we know what the candidates are, we can write to them and make suggestions on how to fix things. There are calls for Mandatory 5 + year prison terms for those who carry knives, so we should challenge the candidates to say what they would do if they don't agree with that idea.
If we suggest extreme ideas, because we are sick to death of people seemingly getting away with things, e.g shoplifiting but not JUST that threatening behavior against staff, harsh punishments.
We need to work out what we want prisons to do, if they are there to remove a person from society, they in general NEED to rehabilitate that person, fix what ever issues they have (e.g addiction) education and job training so upon release they are in a better place. Prisons can't also be a revolving door either. Prisons need to be fit for purpose, built for 21st century not victorian buildings. Build new prisons, convert old prisons to accommodation OR pull them down and build affordable social housing.
In terms of health care staffing crisis, when I was in Canada (2006) there were adverts on TV promoting health care training courses in Georgia (USA). I felt this was a good idea, pro active, get out there and say we need doctors, nurses etc, so provide fully funded courses, the caveat is that they owe the Taxpayer (NHS) 10 years service at least.
Yes this is expensive, so tax the rich, tax the corporations and give regulators proper powers to enforce. We can't keep having raw sewage released in to water courses during dry weather for example and can't keep letting big tech get away with things, fine big tech, give some of that money to the fediverse and other foss projects.
There are parties such as green, lib dems etc. However I think people feel that would be a wasted vote, a vote for labour is one less for Tores and vice versa.
I am not sure what the Green policy on law and order, health care, prisons, education, youth services etc are and if these are worth anything.
We do need a change, I agree with that.

At the start of the Ukraine war, Brits were told NOT to get involved due to the risk of being charged with war crimes. So how is this any different. Granted if there are citizens of Isreal living in the UK being called up to fight, they have a legal duty under Isreal law to do so ( I guess ) however when they get back I agree they should be arrested and investigated for war crimes.

What I don't get is that people in the US are still behind trump despite this language are they so deluded, they will be rounded up against their friends and family.
Once you remove immigrants who have vital skills, what do you then do to maintain the industries that use those skills. Or does Trump and friends not think that far ahead.
If you consider that Netanyahu wants to do the same in Gaza, people don't see that either.
