Thes weapons are now being used to MURDER Lebonese (and others) citizens in their ongoing war, we keep falling for the BS that they are targeting Hamas or Hezbollah, when as the Al Jazeera article points out they can't blow up a bulding with civilians, even IF there are so called terrorists inside. Using western made weapons makes those western countries complicit.
You would think a former SENIOR CPS barrister would understand International law eh.
I have never studied law, I just understand what can and cannot happen, even watching the film 'eye in the sky' makes it clear about killing civians being illegal.
@baldur UBI would end up as libertarian in most cases, unless you nearly dismantle capitalism first. And if you do that, you don't really need UBI as such...

The Case Against Academic Publishers
It seems appropriate to pass on news of a federal antitrust lawsuit being brought in the United States against six commercial academic publishers, including the "Big Four" (Elsevier, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis and Wiley). The case is filed by lawyers Lieff Cabraser Heimann and Bernstein. The plaintiff is Lucina Uddin, Professor of Psychology at UCLA. I suggest you read the full document linked to above for details, but in a…

We (even in the UK) need to plan and prepare for all sorts of outcomes or eventualities and have these in place, esp for a future pandemic. l
So what is the universe expanding in to ? I get the idea of inflation so in effect the universe is like a bubble expanding, is the force creating this caused by the energy from the big bang or is the space the universe is expanding in to providing the force to sort of drag this bubble out further ?
I think there are 3 ideas on how it will end, one is it just carries on forever, the 2nd is that it will eventually rip apart, third is it will collapse back in on itself and a sort of 4th is that after it collaposes it undergoes inflation in a 'cyclic universe model. I am sure since I did this at OU these ideas may have been refined and expanded a little.
Excellent piece of journalism unlike the Pathetic BBC
So what are these legal experts and courts going to DO about it? Can other countries who are allowing it to happen be prosecured for complicitiy, accessory or similar, perhaps it will take the UK Political elite to be hauled before the ICC and prosecuted for the message to get through to them and others.
Perhaps then we will stop making excuses and TELL Israel to stop and help find a better solution to this needless bloodshed.
While at college I did a week of work experience at Dunlop aviation in Coventry, they make aircraft wheels, I am sure they said the wheels were made from Magnesium and had to be turned and formed in to shape, so this required a LOT of cooling to avoid the magnesium catching fire.
Which is why science is cool
Yup and the US , UK will end up getting dragged in to sort out the mess.
It is really sad that my feed has become a bit less active lately because some friends have left for Bluesky. But I will not go there, period. Oh my god, it is so toxic, opening it makes me sick to my stomach. It's just like Twitter. Constant anger and outrage mills, and if not that, cliques and FOMO
Looks nice
*What's weirder: tiny primordial black holes all over the universe, or that you can measure the distance to Mars down to ten centimeters
