How Much Damage Will Lunar Landings Do to Other Lunar Landers?

When lunar landers reach the Moon, they will kick up a cloud of lunar regolith. Because of the lack of atmosphere and low gravity, some of that regolith will be hurled into orbit and cause a hazard for future lunar landers. Each landing will create a plume that future landers will need to route around, and eventually, the lunar surface will be unreachable until the debris returns to the surface. In. a new paper, researchers attempt to calculate how much of a risk this will be to our lunar landing efforts.

There are many, many people who hate Ron DeSantis, hate Elon Musk, and will continue to use Twitter because the loathsomeness of these men simply does not affect how Twitter fits into their lives. They aren’t interested in making a statement, or think doing so would be futile anyway.

A world first!
Today, France has banned domestic flights for journeys possible in less than two-and-a-half hours by train.

France also aims to get 9% of the population on bicycles by 2024, up from 3% (The Netherlands is already at 27%).

So to confirm, because Johnson was too tight to pay his own legal fees, the Cabinet Office got to see his diaries. Because they're officially the client.

Which means that in the process of defending him from one set of crimes, they found evidence of ANOTHER set of crimes, for which they've now had to refer him to the police.

God these spin-off series of the Tory Shitshow are getting hard to track.

Unreal: Florida elementary schools in Miami-Dade county are taking the book banning to new heights, this time banning the poem that was read at President Biden's inauguration by poet Amanda Gorman.

How were they able to get this done at all, let alone across the entire county?

*One* parent demanded that the poem be taken out of the libraries, saying it was "inappropriate" for students.

In addition to Gorman's poem, the deranged parent who was able to get this done successfully also challenged four additional books: The ABCs of Black History, Cuban Kids, Countries in the News Cuba, and Love to Langston.

She claimed that these books were filled with "indirect hate messages" that were inspired by critical race theory.

The director of research and insight at the Florida Freedom to Read Project responded to this absolute atrocious ruling to ban the poem, and books across the state, saying that the type of books being banned show a concerted effort to target "books that address ethnicities, marginalized communities, racism or our history of racism."

Should *one* parent be able to do this? Should a team of parents be able to do this? Where is the line? Who draws it?

This is insane.

Virtual evolution is coming soon (June 2-3)! The schedule is now available (with a few talks still to be scheduled). Hope to see you there!
