Tesla pushes for $56bn pay deal for Elon Musk

I am sharing the above, because it proves what people here have been saying for a LONG time on numerous related issues, I don't think just taxing the rich is going to work, we need to press for a whole new model and consign the current model to the garbage can of history.

"We don’t see what #ClimateChange is doing to us

We need to grapple with the many hidden, little understood, but highly damaging effects of climate change.

Since even “noncatastrophic” climate change may be more subtly damaging and inequality amplifying than we used to think, local interventions are essential to help us prepare for the warming that is to come."

Have the Americans given the 'green light' for Israel to invade Raffah in exchange for no retaliation to Iran?

Has that happened?

Iran, Israel and the potential for miscalculation

Even if all parties involved don't want an all-out war, history shows that it can still happen. #press

This isn't a "War Against Hamas" this is a "War Against Humanity"

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza (AP) — An international team of doctors visiting a hospital in central Gaza was prepared for the worst. But the gruesome impact Israel’s war against Hamas is having on Palestinian children still left them stunned.

We Need To Rewild The Internet

The internet has become an extractive and fragile monoculture. But we can revitalize it using lessons learned by ecologists.

There is a bonus project we are working on, but helping with that is not a requirement.

Things I've seen being described as likely to remove the need for programmers...

- naturalistic programming languages ranging from COBOL to AppleScript
- OOP
- Domain Specific Languages
- Fourth Generation Languages (4GL)
- SQL
- Visual Basic/Delphi/Borland Pascal
- XML
- Low Code/No Code

Turns out each thing that is going to replace programmers ends up being either massively overhyped, or really broken and needing a bunch of programmers to make it work beyond reliably.

Heads up! My new book, AUTOCRACY, INC, will be published in July. It describes the network of dictators who work together - to keep themselves in power and to undermine the democratic world. Now that it’s in galleys I think you can pre-order with confidence: penguinrandomhouse.com/books/7

Why is software created using public funds not released as #FreeSoftware? 👀

We want legislation requiring that publicly financed software developed for the public sector be made publicly available under a Free Software licence. If it is public money, it should be public code as well. 🚀

Astronomers have found the most massive stellar black hole hole in the galaxy yet, because it's tossing around its companion star like a toy ball. Also? It's pretty close to us, on the cosmic scale of things.

@GottaLaff I think the biggest issue is going g to be one of stamina. Unless Trump sleeps through every day of his trial, I don’t see how he will have the energy to campaign nights, weekends, and Wednesdays. And if he tries to do so with stimulants, I would expect his health to suffer quickly. He looked pretty worn out yesterday, based on the amount of makeup he was wearing in the photo of his “blue steel grimace”.
