Exeter Together Against Racism Rally – Saturday 10th August 2024, 12.00 noon, Bedford Square

This is not a counter protest to any anticipated planned far right activity, rather a peaceful way Exeter can show its commitment to unity, anti-racism and diversity.

We are seeking to provide an opportunity for all those who wish to celebrate our city’s diversity, to stand together, peacefully as one – to say no to racism and division.

My entire collection is on eBay now, although still an opportunity to buy straight from me. Collection from Basingstoke, UK though because delivery would be pretty much impossible

"The world is currently seeing the fastest-spreading, largest-ever outbreak of #H5N1, a highly contagious, deadly strain of avian influenza. This virus now presents an existential threat to the world’s biodiversity, with risk to humans rising as it continues to leap species barriers, & new host species.
H5N1 has already impacted at least 485 bird species & 48 mammal species, killing seals, sea otters, dolphins, foxes, California condors, albatrosses, bald eagles, cougars, polar bears & a zoo tiger. Since it broke out in Europe in 2020, this #virus has spread globally. Carried by birds along migratory pathways, it has invaded six continents, including Antarctica.
This current H5N1 animal #pandemic (or panzootic) was caused by humans: A mild form carried by wild birds turned deadly when it infected domestic poultry farms near wetlands where migrating birds congregate.
The toll on some bird & mammal populations has been devastating." news.mongabay.com/2024/08/anim?

'But now that a coalition of major advertisers has organized such a boycott, Musk is suing them under antitrust law. “We tried peace for 2 years, now it is war,” he wrote on X earlier this week, referring to advertisers who criticize him and X.

What’s the next step? Regulators around the world must stand up to the rise in hate speech and disinformation on X, and put Musk out of business.'

‘Refugees welcome here’: Counter protesters gather in Sheffield as far-right demonstration falters

Get the language right. The far right are not 'demonstrating'. They are committing acts of looting, violence and mindless racism and thuggery. Call it for what it is.

@zleap @ChrisMayLA6 But we've already been through that far right wave and come out the other side. Johnson may be buddies with Trump (although, if the empty hall he spoke to at the republican convention is anything to go by, the feeling isn't mutual) but he's also completely irrelevant now. He's just the Daily Mail's weekend feature columnist.

We're ahead of the curve, for a change; polling routinely shows that the UK is more socially liberal and more environmentalist than any other comparable western country - and that the remaining social conservatives and climate change deniers are overwhelmingly elderly and dying off.

We just had an election in which the parties of the right (and one independent in North Down) won only 134 out of 650 seats, by far their weakest showing in modern times. This could scarcely be more different to 2019, but that's what happens when a wave breaks and the tide recedes.

If Vance refuses to debate Walz then Tim should appear on stage anyway with an empty couch.

And just to let others outside the UK know what actually happened yesterday - at least 25k people according to the Daily Mail (aka the Daily Heil) but probably a lot more, came out onto the streets in many cities to protest against the far right racist thugs and rioters.

US citizens: call on Congress to raise taxes on the ultra-wealthy and corporations. If you phone, please spread the word! Main Switchboard: +1-202-224-3121

The farce in "international law" seeing the US vetoes of any UN resolutions, rejections of any international rulings whether it is ICJ, ICC or whatever.

The things we're seeing with our own eyes, the blown up children, torture camps, Palestinians
-raped in detention
-cages
-tied in diapers
-electrocutions on genitals,
-loud music played until ears bleed,
-waterboarding,
-suspension from ceilings?

This is a US genocide. It occurs because of the free reign money and support given by the US.
