It is a radical cultural difference, from Chinese to all the European languages; making it more difficult to learn.
For us who speak one of the Euro languages, learning another is sometimes so much easier since they do have common inheritance, all the way back to Latin roots and words.
But Mandarin has a lot of History, Chinese culture goes back 5,000 years and that is something to be proud of.
I’m happy to see your view about Chinese language and culture. There are four tones for each word is a big challenge for beginners. and Cantonese used in Hong Kong and some areas in china mainland like Guangzhou. And traditional Chinese writing in Taiwan and Hong Kong
