@lydiaconwell But there were already software/games of LINGO around, so it's not that special. If I check the Play Store, there's plenty of LINGO variations.

@trinsec No, I mean you can discuss it in detail once you've completed it.
But maybe the blocks thing is also a reason for popularity. Sometimes it's just good marketing (whether it's intentionally good marketing or not).
@trinsec remember, people are lazy. if I can just go to a website and play a game, that's easier than downloading an app. also, you say lingo was big in the 90s: I think I vaguely recall the show, but timing is off for the niche Wordle has as a game people can play in little inbetween times @lydiaconwell

But I think the fact that it's one puzzle per day and everyone has the same puzzle that makes it popular. It's the sharing notes part afterward I think.
