@JJFlash you have to ask, there is no reason to snub Mastodon, the brag tags are for the programs benefit. Worst case is someone says 'no'. Haven't seen it yet. But I also just remembered I will be gone to Tahiti for two weeks, catching up when I get back may be a daunting/overwhelming task.
@Absinthe This is amazing! I had a feeling he would basically snob Mastodon, so happy I was wrong! 😃
Have you had a look at today's puzzle? 😁 Part 1 seems easy, I fear for part 2...
I've completed "1202 Program Alarm" - Day 2 - Advent of Code 2019 https://adventofcode.com/2019/day/2
And thanks to @ericwastl for adding in the ability to use the mastodon for brag tags!!
@JJFlash So I am asking Eric if he can add Mastodon as a target for brag tags. Maybe some more pressure from other users... Who knows, maybe even get him on Mastodon too? Just a thought. I asked Gargon how to do it and it seems simple enough so I passed it on to him.
@JJFlash well I won't be doing it in the wee hours so competition is pretty much out of the question anyway :)
@Absinthe I completed all the previous editions, that's all 😁
Of course, not all by myself, I shamelessly got "inspired" by looking at other people's solutions on the AoC subreddit 😁 I'm doing this to learn, not to compete, basically, so...
@JJFlash do you have some inside knowledge?
@Absinthe 😄 I fear for this saturday... On weekends the puzzles are surely more complex, it is assumed that one has more time to solve them 😁
@JJFlash oh?
@Absinthe Very pleased that you are doing this! These first puzzles are just a warm-up... It will get interesting (and tricky!) soon enough 😃
I just completed "1202 Program Alarm" - Day 2 - Advent of Code 2019 https://adventofcode.com/2019/day/2 #AdventOfCode
Well, it lets me post to Twitter, or Reddit but no option for posting here so here is my brag tag..
I just completed "The Tyranny of the Rocket Equation" - Day 1 - Advent of Code 2019 https://adventofcode.com/2019/day/1 #AdventOfCode
@design_RG click events, I think it has been going on since 2015
Okay, this isn't me, but consider doing this this month:
It is the Advent of Code for 2019
Unfortunately the fediverse is not a supporter or OAth so you will have to use Twitter, Google, Github to login.
@design_RG thanks. Yeah, I keep Read ng all the articles I can find. I do enjoy the idea of the Fediverse. And I would like to see how well things work out with self moderation and such. But it seems that Free speech and Safe spaces are at odds with one another.
But some of the Free speech enthusiasts look to be trying to prove something? Like challenging someone to take it away. I see it like the 2A people that insist on slinging their ar15 to go into the local grocery store. They are making a statement I just don't quite know what it is. Just because you have the right to call me a disrespectful racial or cultural or scatalogical term doesn't mean you should, is the same way that just because you probably shouldn't doesn't mean somone should take your right to do so.

Sex, Time, and Power: How Women's Sexuality Shaped Human Evolution
@freemo this was fun. I am not sure we have any further to go on it. Civilization has taken us so far out of what natural progressions would have done it is hard to tell some things. Probably why the popularity of the distopian realities has the popularity that it does.
Anyway, I would like to get your opinion on a book if I can find an esbn. That would be indirectly related
@Absinthe I think you did well, explained your reasoning, and even compared to your personal experiences in the past.
I would suggest that an administrator should have a look him/herself at any instances they consider potentially objectionable. I visited some front end pages for instances on gab's orbit, and was dismayed with what was being said and posted there.
Users do have the option of blocking not only a user, but a whole instance in their personal profile -- something I have done and documented here in the past, showing people screenshots and how to do it.
That is rich, that we can set our own limits.
There is a good article on Verge about what happened when the gab people realized tehy could use mastodon as their operating software, and so avoid their past bans for site specific apps -- for atrocious content and the impact on users who sometimes went on to commit criminal acts. The Verge article is here: https://www.theverge.com/2019/7/12/20691957/mastodon-decentralized-social-network-gab-migration-fediverse-app-blocking
AS long as they stay in their own very large instance (the largest atm, just over a million accounts listed), it's not a problem.
With the election in US coming closer and closer, that might change. If they went raiding into people's federated conversations and attempting to inhibit them (like it's common in Twitter), then the response from instances administrators would likely be much more active.
The next year is going to be a tough one, no matter the results.
The Atlantic had a recent issue, analyzing the situation and comparing it to what they saw in the US just before the Civil War got started.
Personally, I am not interested in their 'discourse' and prefer not to spend my time and energy in arguing.
@freemo I don't thing I am stretching much. I do believe rape as a means of procreation may happen. Afterall rape is a human concept. Other animals just call it procreation. If you are going back to solitary times it might even make sense with inter mixing of Neanderthal s. But humans have been culturally social out of necessity. Both marriarchially and patriarchially. However, with no estrus signal, rape is a highly inefficient method of procreation. Woman is only receptive to impregnation 3 days out of the cycle.
I just don't actually see genetically disadvantaged large breasted women. What I do see are high BMI and poorly nutritionned large breasted disadvantaged women.
If genetics predispose a woman to carry fat I her breast, that is for the advantage of maintaining mammary health and function. If she is maintaining so much fat that she cannot evade a male of her own species then she could no longer evade a predictor such as a cat or wolf. If she is carrying that much fat it is diet rather than genetics.
@freemo sagging would be obviated by looking at cultures that don't wear them. Look at the Peruvian and other 'cultural nudity' images. The nubile girls will have protruding breasts then as they age they lay flatter and hang. Bras are intended to make post nubile women look like nubile pubescent girls. We do and have done all sorts of unnatural things to female bodies, from foot binding, to corsetting, to fgm .. probably because there is no signaling of estrus and women can reduce congress even when they are in estrus. That itself probably due to the long gestation and increased size of the human brain leading to the likelihood of death during pregnancy.
