@p @yohanandiamond I have fed my wife and children with C++ so there's that :) Fun is in the eye of the beholder. C and C++ can both be fun depending on what you do with them

@yohanandiamond C++ is, in my experience, not very enjoyable.

:dmr: C is very fun, though. :ken:

@yohanandiamond @l0wk3y@freespeechextremist.com @p a language that has unit tests as first class items ... that's definitely interesting. There is a local guy here that teaches and he really has a super massive hardon for Golang... I must give it a shot some day for sure

@p @yohanandiamond @l0wk3y@freespeechextremist.com I still want to find a good all purpose "Toy" program. I might dig through some of the AdventOfCode stuff this year, as I loved some of his problems. Getting interrupted half way through with my Tahiti trip (poor me :D ) kind of stopped me at day 10 for the time being, but I liked the potential of his IntCode computer and things like that.

Who knows, soon time to get back to coming up with more problems again. Feel free to participate or suggest some as well.

@p @yohanandiamond @l0wk3y@freespeechextremist.com Sure you can, as well as other solutions too. 10 programmers 11 Solutions!

@Absinthe @yohanandiamond @l0wk3y That's fun! I think you could save some effort by putting "ones" and "teens" into the same array.

The first I put up was for 99 Bottles of Beer. However, I added the twist, that it has to output text only, no numerals. So it was for "Ninety-nine Bottles of Beer".

Feel free to give it a shot at :

@Absinthe @yohanandiamond @l0wk3y Programming languages. :bwk:

When I do a programming language, I usually go with "Hello, World!", then 99 Bottles of Beer ( http://99-bottles-of-beer.net/abc.html ), then Project Euler #31 ( https://projecteuler.net/problem=31 ).

@standfold I don't get it. Did Lush want to include TERFS and SWERFS or exclude TERFS and SWERFS? Seems with each additional *ERF are reducing the supportive population of who they are considering FEMINIST. Not sure why a boycott is being called in this situation, but more power to you.

@design_RG they don't really taste like much, and in cold drinks they don't soften noticeably. Although, I wouldn't mind a twizzlers an a good day

How popular/effective are straw bans? First thing, I saw a cool solution in Tahiti. They gave you a hollow raw pasta tube. Works way better than the paper ones.

OTOH, I just saw the latest Coca-Cola commercial. After the puffin opens the Cole with his beak the Polar bear gives him a plastic bendy straw. Forget that birds can't use straws because they have no lips. As soon as I saw it, I expected outcry and boycott and offence against coke. Still haven't heard anything.

@freemo @radiofreqs @crunchy so.... what does it do? :) I assume it is a component in a larger project

@Absinthe
Turns an analog input signal into a digital equivelant (same frequency but magnitude information is lost)

@Absinthe I just found out about advent of code this year and it looks neat. I may try some of the challenges if I have the time. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

@mollusk I don't, but I encourage you to try it with some of the or if you have dug deeply enough into it Nothing like using a language for something that is not silly and contrived to get to know how you really feel about it.

Give this a shot:
