@inference @itzzenxx @getimiskon It's not going to be enough of a first step. I won't talk about it but our governments have a massive lead on them and if our governments have tools, it's probable that APTs have some level of capability to do the same.

Apple is only selling a brand. If the wrong people are coming, it doesn't really matter and that extends to criminal organizations too. It should be replaced with a screen that reads, "You have fucked up." That's not going to sell phones.

@itzzenxx @getimiskon @inference They've been known to screw over talented bug hunters. They will just release to 0day solutions again. Even if they didn't have a poor history with bug hunters, they don't pay anywhere near a fair price.

I have a Pinephone. I am responsible for how secure my system is. I don't daily drive it anymore because I have beta hardware which was later considered Alpha hardware. It only has thermal problems, poor battery life because the screen adjusts from off to painful to look at in full sun light. It runs full GNU/Linux.

It was development hardware and yes I helped.

I can flip physical kill switches. That's what real control looks like.

@PawelK @h4890 @useless_idiot The Lora is just used to transmit some basic XYZ information to the computer. It is only to get the 2.4Ghz antennas close enough. They can auto align this way.

The dishes were used to receive information from satellites so that is going to make it difficult to get them aligned correctly. If you've ever shot a battle rifle or hunting rifle, you probably know how far it can be effective up to. Mental math reveals a large discrepancy if using iron sights.

Imagine that beam is a bullet and one has to hit a bullet sized target up to 20Km away. That's not a job for humans to do by hand.

The range and how it achieves it is impressive but nearly everything else is just infuriating. The wind blew and it isn't aligned anymore. Did it rain and the soil has changed density? It's not aligned anymore. There are many problems and it wouldn't be fair to recommend it without saying how problematic it will be.

@freemo @inference It's more exciting when configured for clusters. There's something fulfilling about using equipment to its true potential.

@itzzenxx @getimiskon @inference A sophisticated cyberattack would involve much more. Let me just hit a switch and I'm definitely not going to be bothered by my other devices or the IoT at home. I wonder if they are still giving the information to the government. If one hits that button, I'm fairly certain the government will know if they are watching.

Gotta love apple for making it easier to stalk people and spy. They don't have a great track record for human rights.

@thor Yerba Mate is fairly popular in the German spaces from what I've heard. It might be worth looking into. It's more functional than just caffeine.

@Koropokkur @Crankenstein @disclosetv @IAMAL_PHARIUS @Some_German_Guy I prefer simple English until more succinct and concise wording is necessary. I was taught not to use pretentious wording out of respect for those who have difficulty understanding.

I also believe in doing things in a counterintuitive way. Think of all the pathways that are formed when one limits the way in which they communicate. It forces the brain to adapt. It might be seen as obtuse but similar changes in our everyday lives can compound and ultimately change the way we think.

It's a trippy thought and it is perhaps less beneficial than learning another language but it's a fun though experiment. If you do it, you are doing a similar action as using different bases of numbers and more interestingly, functioning like a computer. A computer that is capable of swapping from a large instruction set to a more limited instruction set.

It's embarrassing to admit but I'm still dealing with Manjaro dying on me. Going to go from that back to a FSF approved distribution. I want to see how far support has come since the last time.

I'm still going to make another antenna but what do I connect it to? If I can get a respectable level of performance from it, I'll mention it.

Just assume miserable failure or mediocrity.

@inference Just keep trying and don't be so hard on yourself. You'll eventually succeed and it will be worth the effort.

@inference It's because they aren't real. Give a real woman a try, like a relationship. You'll be surprised at how quickly the natural chemistry can change one's views. Find something you both have an interest in and enjoy it together.

@inference True attention is more than what we see. For me, I'm attracted to smart women. It's a different feeling than regular sexual attraction. Just keep an open mind and she might find you. I've made my fair share of bad decisions in regards to relationships but I don't regret them. I had no idea what I was doing but I learned from those experiences. That's how it has to be sometimes.

@inference It should work itself out. That's strange but I just realized that the anime I grew up on was more than a little homoerotic. It's difficult for me to imagine unrealistically attractive females in anime.

Apparently it could be worse.

@inference You'll eventually get tired of it. The brain is amazing.

@inference I'm pretty sure it's common. In person it would be different.
