@lupyuen The best part is that I haven't made use of the pins. For whatever reason I solder any pin headers on my devices.

Maybe it's preparation for something that I've been working on in the background. ;)

@freemo @WoodSharpening @niclas Normally that would get someone kicked out of a church. Child abuse is a proud tradition in religions.

@lupyuen I don't like to comment on someone else's work without showing my own. I suppose that I was just happy that I didn't kill the FPGA and that's what I remembered. When I inspected the work to take a photo, I felt a little sick just looking at it.

@tuv @lupyuen I did want to mention paste and a hot air station but I'm not the one who likey knows the melting point of the solder used on the board.

Pine64 did make the Pinecel. I wonder if they would make a hot air rework station.

@lupyuen
This is not my best work but it was my first real experience with the Silver alloy solder I had just bought. Some joints look okay and others look like I was intimidated by the amount of heat that I was using.

@lupyuen @AmpBenzScientist It has always been somewhat daunting when I have to solder through-hole components. Soldering surface-mount components with paste and hot plate is actually much less stressful. Learning to use kicad was also totally worth it.

The #Ox64 #riscv dev board (and a Pinecil) showed up today from Pine64. Will have to give it a try tonight. Excited to play with hardware again.

@lupyuen Perhaps I have a photo of my FPGA board that I decided would be my first real test of Silver alloy solder. Solder just acts odd at times.

@lupyuen @PINE64 What type of solder did you use? I see rosin splatters and one side that looks nearly perfect. It looks like it was just the solder that failed to perform.

@eqe @yeti@emacs.ch @lupyuen Gowin FPGAs are working but it's very strange to see Reverse Engineering on a device that should be open by definition.
