Most likely, almost all Pink katydids in the wild are de novo.
This article is good and correct, but missing a very important wrinkle.
In most of wildlife, and also somewhat in humans, dominate-allele style dwarfism is not inherited at all! But comes from a mutation original to the individual. Individuals with dwarfism very rarely have any progeny, even in people.

Further clarification:
In wild populations (i.e. not miniature pets), Dominant alleles cause the majority *expressed* dwarfism, but the majority of dwarfism alleles in the wild are recessive, but being recessive, rarely expressed.
@madamscientist Most of them, anyways. There are a few that are recessive.
Like dwarfism in mammals, this means Pink is usually an original (to the individual) mutation, or at most inherited from an original mutation parent.
True of any strongly deleterious dominant mutation.
