@freemo @protecttruth , I strongly agree. I just say it is interesting to LOOK at the available data, and try to theorize about what it can mean. Anyone who draws conclusions is almost without doubt wrong on this issue. But, I have to admit my bias: I don't see social sciences as science.
@freemo @protecttruth , it is also interesting to look at homicide and suicide rates by nation, with or without gun control measures. I don't think guns actually play much of a factor in overall deaths. The only thing they seem to change is the existence of aberrations, like mass killings. Which are an incredibly small part of the big issue, the number of dead people. And even in the USA, the largest school killing in US history was not done with guns. Bath School murders.
@micahflee , I just went to the bird app to see what I missed in the last week or two. I have notifications that I missed posts, and running down my timeline a bunch of "What is the most disgusting food?" type posts. My life is less cluttered. I am annoyed that several journalists I like are still there only... But none of them had compelling posts that I saw.
@dillonliam rural living. It is kinda expected up front that there will be a shooting in most stories.
@dillonliam I got 3 of them as a present from my mother in law. Wonderful birds, friendly, beautiful, etc. But ya, they were a mess, and I have no proof but I think my neighbor shot them.

After a bit of research, I discovered the show got the value wrong for the time of the show, and it has been updated since the show was written.
I wish I had an older CRC to look up the value... was it modified in the last 40 years??
Watching Stranger Things. Did anyone else notice they got Planck's constant wrong?

@w7voa we need a constitution amendment eliminating gerrymandering. Redrawing districts should never be a partisan process.
