Managed to capture the last night from Mid . It was an amazing spectacle. The pillars could be seen with the naked eye (but no colour), and these unedited photos from my show the beautiful colours of the display . An unforgettable experience, and a rarity for this far south.

Listened to a fascinating podcast about the study of moss which inspired me to pay more attention to this underrated ancient plant. The podcast was called "Ologies" by Alice Ward. Highly recommend a listen :-)

Currently studying ecology as part of my degree. It forms part of the general science module so it’s only high level at this stage. This week’s individual project involves measuring Leaf Area Index of different parts of the world to identify the likely habitat.
