"Overheard in AI
It’s always fun being in a house with lots of smart people because you hear things that you might not otherwise. Here’s a list of them. I don’t agree with all of them but they’re at least an interesting portrait of what at least some people do believe..."

Fake Voices: The Ethics of Deepfakes
(MIT App Inventor)
"In this unit, students explore synthetic media by creating a smartphone app that can speak in different voices by changing the rate and pitch of the speech. Students work in groups to present arguments about the possible future impacts of various types of media, including ones in commerce and assistive technology as well as those used in crime.

Educators can use this lesson to introduce students to , provide a basic understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and prompt students to predict the possible future use and abuse of synthetic media in society."

AI + Ethics Curriculum for Middle School
from the MIT Media Lab
"This project seeks to develop an open source curriculum for middle school students on the topic of artificial intelligence. If you are having discussions in your spaces regarding and - maybe this slide deck can help. I have assembled a bunch of resources in a pretty decent structure. As I find things, they get added - time to get those chats started!

☃️ Surprise! We were expecting rain in this part of the state this morning. LOTS of late bus students walking in looking like snowmen (snow people?).

This explanation fascinates me:
“For the nerds in the back that are interested in what the heck is happening right now and how these AI companies and technologies are related.”

My email drip this week focusing on Stocking Stuffers (1 per day for 5 days - today is day 2). I would love to move away from the Christmas theme next year, any ideas? Maybe a year end wrap up or looking towards the new year instead?

Thanks to a toot from @DavidKnuffke that I saw this morning, I tried another tool - Elicit elicit.org/
"This workflow tries to answer your research question with information from published papers."
My example is shown here with my initial question in the red box. Wow.

Did you know that Loom "offers qualified educators unlimited recordings and access to premium features" in their Free Screen & Video Recorder for Education?

Well, I just stumbled across a new feature where you can include a Call to Action button right on your video! This quick video shows how it works - super simple.

And now I can see GIFs in action on my feed!
Seriously, start looking around in those settings and clicking things.

THIS one change in my settings changed my screen to look more like Tweetdeck.
I can now easily follow a collection of hashtags all in one column!
Hat tip to @tonyvincent !

I love this - what if teachers posted this each week for students? Or... if the students took it over and posted each week for the entire school?
Thinking out loud (that should be a hashtag)...
