When you jump out of an airplane its not you that are flying, you are just laying there peacefully. Its the ground that is flying... upward, to meet your face violently.

The experiment has been done many times. Oddly enough though no one has bothered to write about it afterwards, so the documentation is lacking.

That's actually an accurate description of objects in a gravitational field according to general relativity. Falling objects that are "weightless" are at rest, while object that are experiencing gravity, like the ground, are accelerating.
