@empiricism

>"Right now - l want to stop repeating the unpopular solutions & those solutions not being implemented...."

Please be specific (and concise). What do you want?

Do you want to prevent/slow climate change? If so, how?

@admitsWrongIfProven

btw = by the way

In this case the use of the phrase "by the way" was satirical because usually "btw" refers to something that is ancillary to the topic of discussion, however in this case the phrase following it, "...it's very wrong, it's unfair, and it must change", is the core concept of this discussion.

(ok, enough meta.)

@admitsWrongIfProven

...And btw, it's very wrong, it's unfair, and it must change.

@gnusuario

me gusta mickey mouse ¿por qué le harías eso?

@freemo @alfredo_liberal

And here's some more sarcasm...

I'm so grateful that that US killed over a million of it's own citizens.

@juliancho @freemo

My grandmother buried a century egg in 1918. When I dug it up in 2018, it was petrified. So I tried again with a slight change to the recipe...

Eventually we'll perfect the recipe.

@EvilK

>"Using a speakerphone in public is a sign of ignorance and inbreeding."

...or hearing loss. FYI

maybe a spoiler?

Oh, missed the top of your toot there -- pi*g (pi times gravity on the Earth's surface, 9.8 m/s^2)

@admitsWrongIfProven

The wealthy actually want the price of bribes to be a little high so that fewer people will be able to bribe the politicians and the wealthy will have more influence that way.

@admitsWrongIfProven

I'm sorry but I lost you. I don't know what you mean. I guess we need dump the metaphors now...

In the US the wealthy choose who is in office. They pick people who they can easily bribe. If the officeholders ask for too much money in return for their laws and policies, then the wealthy will just replace them if the cost of replacement is less than the price that the officeholders are demanding.

@admitsWrongIfProven

A more expensive leash just means that fewer people hold the reins.

People who lack morals or ethics are very easy to lead. You can lead them around by the nose just by waving a few dollars in front of their face.

This is why the plutocrats put them in office.

@alfredo_liberal

Judicial appointments should be non-controversial. Historically, confirmation votes got huge majorities.

The reason why it's political now is because the entire system has become corrupt. Part of that corruption is that judges are making political decisions rather than deciding cases based on the law.

The only solution to this is a revolution -- a complete reset.

@alfredo_liberal

There are 100 senators. If she resigned, there would be 99 until Newsom picked a replacement, or until 2025 when the newly elected senator is sworn in.
(or unless another additional senator resigned)

@stux

I like that there is one dog in there chasing all the cats. 😂

@freemo

Actually, "assault rifles" are illegal in the US unless you get a special permit.

All fully automatic firearms require a permit in the US.

@freepeoplesfreepress

I thought warmongers sunk ships.

Also, sometimes loose lips save lives. (e.g., the Pentagon Papers, 1971)
