Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.

Looks like the mayor of #Denver is declaring pelt will be prevented from buying groceries (any anything else) if we don't wear masks.
Current question on my mind : Does a mayor have the authority to prevent people from buying food?
The Mayor of #Denver has announced that masks will be mandatory in every store within the city limits. I've worn masks in stores for weeks now, but I'm not sure he's got the authority to require all citizens to be prevented from buying food unless they wear a face mask.

Something seems fundamental about this sentence in the article. Does it reveal a worldview that says one's identity is of one's own making, or only valid if received with consent? That's not how identity works.
Much (most? at the beginning, all?) of one's identity is placed upon one without one's consent.
