The more scared/cautious you are, the more 'virtuous'.

Normally when there is a disease, people hope that it will be less serious than they imagined and welcome information that can calm them down.
With the 'rona, people hope that it is more serious than they imagined and reject any information that could calm them down.

#Colorado Governor Polis Launches Bold Signage Plan to Crack Down on Riots

Sometimes I get really into learning about vestigial technologies and design standards. Like how ascii was originally designed for electronic typewriters and has the carriage return character for telling a typewriter to move to the beginning of a line. That's used to do terminal animations nowdays. Also I remember reading somewhere that the current american standard railway width was designed to allow two horses to stand side-by-side within a train car. Also the main streets in paris are the width of a french cavalry regiment from the 1830's so they could move through the city easier.

Lori Lightfoot plans to open Chicago restaurants.
All of this announced with Joe Biden’s inauguration days away.

@marathon right like any web link. I'm just saying you can't see quotes from the parent. Whereas this reply here you can see from the parent
@marathon so.. Sort of. But your original toot doesn't show the quote as related to it. And now I'm quoting your quote so I think it also won't show as a reply, just a new unrelated toot.
@whitepaperkat #qoto is an instance that I usually see championing tolerance and respect toward people of different perspectives. Remember it goes both ways... try not to be abrasive, treat others with excellence, and it'll be a good place. Welcome.
Happy Birthday to the World Health Organization's Most Harmful CCP Lie about #Covid-19! 🎉
I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.
