@levisan wall mounted hand crank coffee grinder, the noise of which 95 year old grandpa used to wake up to as a child. I'm guessing over 100 years old.
@stsmith so they have to release UFO information after this, right?
🙃
@robert @RichardChristy yes, I'd think the generation tray raised those who would become bad parents carry the larger share of responsibility... But then one must ask about the generation that raised them.
As to whether things were better in the past, that's too broad... By many objective measures the world is better today than at any point in history. I think we're not in a worse place, but teetering in the brink of throwing away a lot of good. I don't think we've reached the tipping point, but we'll likely only know in hindsight.
@RichardChristy I don't know....one generation produced the other, right?
@MountainJay I'm up for publishing this for purchase there if you want to send me the high res image
@MountainJay you did it! Looks like I missed (or will miss) a local meet up at that wine bistro. Broke my leg out running last week. Not going anywhere.
Declare a year-long war on law and order to weaken the Bad Orange Man in an election year and this is what you get.
Keep reminding 'em.

@realcaseyrollins shoot. Just realized that my broken leg last week.... Was my Spring Break.
@ParkerTechGuy I always know when mine is plugged in, with this hourly reminder : "I'm listening to you at all times and storing audio 24/7 for big tech"
@freemo This week I fell and broke my leg. When minutes of going to an urgent care I had xrays, a few hours later I was at an orthopedic surgeon of my choice and was in surgery the next day.
I have thought a number of times, I probably wouldn't have gotten such fast medical help if I were still in my country of origin.
(Given, I had to swipe a payment card at the surgery center and will be getting various related bills for a while, but my relatives in Canada across the political spectrum are unified in always complaining about how high their taxes are, so the cost issue is still there, is only handled differently.)
@ParkerTechGuy well.... I always loved running in snow. Until now. Tuesday one mile in I tripped or slipped or something, and twisted my ankle...actually broke my leg (fibula). Had to have a metal plate surgically attached, screwed through my bones yesterday and am in a world of pain today. 3 months expected recovery.
I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.
