@timnolte I had run off and on occasionally.... In 2019 I didn't set a goal of wanting to ENJOY running. Started and then started going further with no speed goal.... Ended up running as far as 20.5 miles one Saturday.
I registered for a marathon, which was covid-canceled then broke my leg out for a run a month ago. Tough going. I want to still compete a marathon, later this year if possible, but my real goal is to enjoy running.
If I'm not enjoying it, I need to mix it up. Though I wouldn't suggest breaking your leg....this is a rough recovery.
@Mac_CZ yes! Great games
@Mac_CZ the worms as in Worms Armageddon? My son asks to play it all the time. ๐
@garagedinner @PhoneBoy @thadius in 2019 I set a goal of enjoying running. I started walking 3 miles 3 times per week. Started to jog a bit of that, increased my distance by a half mile or mile.... By the time I got to 7 miles, I jogged the whole thing.
I kept increasing distance until I ran over 20 miles one day.
I just don't focus on speed. I focus on distance. If I have to walk I walk. But I miss enjoy running.
I registered for a marathon last year, which was canceled, but I happy running, doing a half marathon distance most Saturday mornings.
Marathon is now in October. A month ago running I tripped /slipped....my twisted ankle was actually a broken leg and a few torn tendons. Surgery the next day. I have a metal plate with several screws through my bones holding them in place and my tendons are slowly healing. No cardio of any kind allowed right now.
I miss running.
Two more months until I can take my first running step. But I'm still hoping to run the marathon in October. Training will be more intense, but if I can do it, it'll be a better story...competing my first full marathon the same year I broke my leg.
Democrats Introducing Legislation To Pack Supreme Court With 4 New Justices, Report Says
@mhjohnson @ReadyKilowatt what if....this was a plandemic after all, following Fauci's unfortunate visit to Casa Bonita? All a plot to force it out of business.
For our family it was like a strange right of passage for kids birthdays. Parents pay for an obligatory platter of mediocre food to get to the sopapillas and cave exploration.
@MountainJay so disappointed with Colorado
Nation Braces For Most Peaceful Protests Yet
... While last summer, BLM unleashed their mostly peaceful brand of protests, they said at the end of this trial, they will be unleashing their most powerful weapon: entirely peaceful protests, involving even more peaceful bricks, Molotovs, and more peaceful deaths.

Wow. Those without covid vaccination will not be evacuated from St Vincent with active volcano explosion.
Thanks for sharing,

I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
